Arrived yesterday, thanks to Dexter for making it happen, and he packs as well as he cleans! Tygon lines need to be replaced with black rubber before run time. Tag says 16:1 mix but that is poo, I'm thinking more like H1R@20:1 min. What say the rest of you? Also tag states 6500 RPM max. Has .404 chain a good thing since 7/16 is very hard to find.

I would imagine with advances in oil technology that 32:1 would be sufficient. I'm not a expert though.

Packing is an art form :)

As for the oil? I would guess anything between 32:1 and 20:1. I believe 32:1 would be safe, but that won't make it bring a crowd over at a show. As loud as that saw is? It will attract a mob of people, just based on the noise. If you add in another sense that people can see? Like SMOKE! ! ! And lots of it! :dex: Then people will come to look at it by the masses! !

That is a beautiful saw and I was glad to help!!

Dexter, does your wife know you had a chainsaw on HER kitchen counter? Doing that is REALLY living on the edge!

    Yep, she was home
It only leaked a little :)

She is a very forgiving woman and deals with my CAD well. :) I used to have 3-4 saws on the table/counter at a time. That was back when I sharpened with a Timberline. I just set all the saws up on the counter, had all the tools ready, and worked upstairs

As long as I clean up after myself? She doesn't mind :D

You are a lucky man Dexter! My wife likes to compare saws for weight and handling, she is 5 foot 2 and weighs 105. She even tries to drop start them just to see if she can do it. She has a Mac Eager Beaver that she likes to run but is still quite afraid of it.

If it isn't open bearings like the old clintons you'll be fine with normal mix.

Open bearings? Like plain/babbit style bearings?

About 32 pounds for the 125C,guessing a pound or two more for the 1-80 gear drive, inspite of its smaller displacement, slightly longer bar with heavier chain/gear reduction transmission.

Thistle, does your 125C have the kart engine mod?

I wish...lol. Both saws are 100% stock, except for the electronic ignition module upgrade that replaced the old points/condenser.The 1-80 gear drive does have one of the early factory MC-10 kart engines though.

I do hope to have one of the 125C/101B kart saws eventually.

I have drop started those 125s. Not really any harder to pull over than say a 2100 husky or 288 with too much compression.

That saw will be fine with 32/1. I run 32/1 with good synthetic oil in all my saws. If I run something with a bronze rod bushing I'll use a thicker mix. All my current saws including my 1947 Mercury/Disston KB7AY have bearings instead of bushings...
