Crazy weather indeed. Low 50's right now and will be in the single digits this time tomorrow. Still keeping a small fire going in the Regency as even with the warmer temps, it just feels damp and raw out. The rain yesterday put a decent dent in the snowpack, and my dirt road and driveway are a muddy icy mess. The good news is that the icepack on the walkway in front of the house is down to about 3". Maybe I'll finally be able to stop using micro spikes around June. Looking forward to the snow on Friday though as I would still like to scrounge some more wood with the snowmobile. Good times linking up with your group, Brian and John.

No wonder it gets so hot there in summer.

Morning All. Clear and cold - below freezing this morning. Gorgeous weather. When Shadow got me up at 3:00 AM, I had a look out for the Aurora Borealis but didn't see anything. Local photographer (Anthony Bucci) caught an awesome picture at 1:30 AM the night before. Mom's community is on the right. The red light is a navigation marker.

A good day to open some windows and let some fresh air in, while your stove is lit. I'll be building a fire but not lighting it off until this evening.

It was good to meet you! I don't think the other members or my camping buddies scared you off. Everyone mentioned how good your black bear chili turned out. My brother kept the leftovers and took them home!

I noticed the jalapeno cornbread didn't last long and I'm glad everyone enjoyed the bear chili! I didn't realize there was some chili left in one of the containers in the cooler or I would have let your brother take that as well (there is usually bear chili in my fridge or freezer at any given time).

Good afternoon! 25F and cloudy with occasional flurries. Snow expected to kick in tomorrow PM. I plan to get more wood bucked and prepped for splitting tonight. Not sure if the ground is ready for the skid steer to shuffle full and empty racks around yet. If I can get some wood up to the front I'll fill in the roadside stand and make a few more bundles. Have a God day!

    Good morning, folks.

Winter returns with temps now in the mid-20's, rising to the low 30's. Snow starts overnight, tonight.

I might actually do a bit of splitting, no worries that there's no snow in the yard, currently. And, I'll do some grocery shopping.

    Be safe
    Be healthy

    Looks like more snow tonight.

One place in MI now has 56" of snow on the ground! Total 262" snow this year and it is not done yet.

It is amazing the temperature differences in our world, just for this morning...

    Good morning all!
Gonna hook up a (back up) water heater in the basement today. We had a power surge/outage on Monday and it knocked the (now obsolete) circuit board out on my tankless heater. And lifetime warranty doesn't mean lifetime...
Luckily I had the (original) board from 10 years ago that was replaced under warranty but was still good. So it's working again... for now.

Good morning everyone! I had a great day outside yesterday, moved wood into the basement and into the shed, and did some raking. In a Tshirt!
8-12 inches of snow starting predawn on Friday.
Today I'll get gas and pick up a few food items. And take an old lady grocery shopping. It will be a madhouse, but at least she's not scheduled for tomorrow. She only goes once every two weeks.
I'll swim today, but I might not get to tomorrow.

    Have a good one!

Good morning! 23F and cloudy with occasional flurries. Snow picks up this afternoon. 2"-4" expected by morning. Cut and filled a 1/4 cord rack of mostly maple rounds last night. That will get staged but probably not split for a few weeks. Checked a face cord stack this morning (elm, maple and walnut). Most splits measured 10% MC so it will be filling the roadside stand. Last 8th grade home basketball tonight so I'm skipping music practice at church.

My FIL is finally having his bypass surgery Monday morning. We're flying out Sunday afternoon after church. We're planning to stay at least a week, depending on how things go. We want to make sure he's home and comfortable. At least there won't be any snow to deal with! Have a God day!

Decision hasn't been made yet or at least told to me. I am away for a couple of days so I probably won't find out until next week.

Morning All. We went down island last night in case the roads were bad this morning. Shadow has a vet appt this morning. She has a growth on her eyelid that the vet is worried about. Turns out to be no snow here anyway. We will see what it is like when we go home this afternoon.

    Everyone have a great day.
