Really getting sick of this winter! We have had blizzards, February rainstorms, brutal cold and it seems about every week there is a day or two of 40-60 miles per hour winds. How have everyone else's winters been, am I the only one dealing with this because I'm up here in Dakotah Territory? Today's weather map picture. Screenshot_20220221-123226_Facebook~2.jpg

Winter has not been bad here although I've had enough already and ready for spring. We've had some cold but nothing really bad and only a few nights below zero. Not much winter happened until January. We have had very little snow and only plowed a couple times.

The worst for here was we had a big warmup and some rain then it froze fast and this made driveways and roads terrible with thick ice. It took a while to get rid of it but it is not bad now. Overall I would rate this winter as warmer overall with little snow.

But, welcoming warmer wx to c/s/s more wood for the future.

Being a few hundred miles east of you, your winter summary is exactly what I would post for here. Some nights and days colder than normal, all of them in Jan. and Feb. and very little snow for this time in the year.

I’ve experienced about the same here. Only a few good dumps of snow, one blizzard, several few inch storms, warm, rain, ICE, I hate ice, windy as chit. We’ve gotten it all. Rain tomorrow night, 57 Wednesday, snow Friday.

It’s definitely been a mixed bag here. November-December was an extended shoulder season. January up to mid February brought real winter with a few snow storms and enough cold weather to freeze the lakes and ponds enough to walk on. Now we’re alternating between high teens for lows and close to 60 for highs as of recently.

Wow. Warm down there in Connecticut. We have lakes with 3-4 feet of ice.

Yeah typically our daytime highs rise above freezing, so we don’t get the ice buildup you guys do. Some especially warm years it doesn’t even get thick enough to ice fish on. Later this week we’ll be dropping to more normal temperatures. There will be more winter to deal with yet around here.

This is happening here. Freezing rain fire is. Right about now until 6 pm tomorrow. Could be a 1/4" of ice frozen to the ground as freezing rain.
    Yuck

We were supposed to possibly get 6+ inches of snow as yesterday. Now just freezing rain for us, and a large number of people.

Overall, winter has been very lackluster this year. We only had a few days of fairly cold temps, one snowfall of idk 3-4", and only 1 other snowblower worthy snow of about 1.5".

The snowmobile trails never even opened here, and with March around the corner, I doubt that will happen. It's been super windy though this winter. We've had gusts over 60 mph around here earlier this winter and just over the weekend, 50 mph gusts were pretty much all weekend.
