That's a piece of a roll up truck bed cover. I scored 4 or 5 of them like that this summer. Aluminum and waterproof.
Wood gets tossed in through the old coal hatch into an almost full cord capacity bin that I built. It is 7 steps away from the woodstove.
There are at least 3 axe throwing places in SE Michigan. Seems the sport is picking up interest. Targets is like a bulleye and there are smaller dot targets outside the main target that I think are used for tiebreaking? Never tried it myself, but some day.
I’m not really in the coal cracker region now I’m in the northern Pocono mountains but I grew up around the outskirts of Scranton, big coal area at one time. Our whole region was.
There are a few bars around here that have it. I don't know much about how they play or score it. I just know they charge a $50 deposit in case of damage and $25 per half hour to throw. Beer is cheaper at home with friends over and we staple a playing card to the target if we want to get fancy. Somewhere I have a short video of me riding by on my four wheeler and sticking a hatchet in the target. We laughed our butts off about that and it's never been repeated so far... I'll have to see if I can find that video...
Liking these pictures of the different racks. Here's mine... just constructed a couple weekends ago for about $24. Holds about a week's worth of wood when burning continuously. Built it from eyeballing plans from some internet site. Placed in the garage next to my milk crate of chunklies!
