More like waste yard. I would think there has to be money in running it all through a tub grinder and selling chips/mulch?

Looks like a lot going to waste/rot to me. Hate to see that as a firewood hoarder. Seems like they could split and sell some, and even if that’s not worth there time they could truck loads cheep just to clear up some space! Why do they want all that wood just laying around rotting?

Ontario Firewood Resource are you able to
    Hoard wood there?

    Lotta wood going to waste.
Just cleaning that property up for more productive uses would be a crippling expense for most companies

as the guy said, there's more mushrooms than firewood back there. There is lots of ready to burn wood in there, up off the ground, on top of what is rotting lol. Too much softwood in there.

More importantly, what money could they be making off that area after the wood is gone!

I guess the boss is narrow-minded. Tree cutters don't care about firewood really. too much work, vs. a quick 2000 to 5000 day arborist job. We're big city folk here so not much interest other than fireplaces and a few wood stoves, maybe some makes it out of town and the crew wood rather drink beer and play euchre in the barn at the end of the day lol

We only had access from 4 pm till dusk. so we wouldn't disturb the golfers. We had to hurry as well as they had a tub grinder coming in. We were still pulling wood out when the grinder showed up. Spent about a month there. A few weeks later got a call from another Golf course. we were not able to take advantage of that one though as we didn't have any more room either. I had 15 cord here at the shop and 40 at home all split and stacked.
Then due to some neighbor, got into a tiff with the city- ended up selling that place and moving out to country could not take most of it with me no way to transport all that ( 50 mi jaunt one way) and no time. did mange to move a cord + from there and the 15 from shop ( new landlord same story). Ran through most of that at the new place not much in the way of hoarding out there ( just about every farm has owb's) Course guess what is banned as far as new install is concerned. Things were getting pretty thin at home until this last late spring when one of my customers was doing a lot clearing not to far away . He brought me 4 30 ft long dumping truck loads from that job. I have css some 9+ cords since Aug. haven't made much of a dent in it yet. just a couple pics View attachment 313859 lots more there

Forget firewood, they could make more money for free by renting out that space for $4000 Can ($3000US) per month, get some service trucks parked in there

Looks like ash and sugar maple at bottom, red oak and cherry. Is that big on in the middle box elder? Looks too straight to be one. We call that stuff Manitoba maple. Very detestable here, I call it Manitoba special

big stuff in middle is white oak, there is Hickory floating around in the piles as well. had about an hour before dark when i got home last night. split and stacked a bit of hickory , red oak and cherry. Light was fading and the blood suckers were becoming active. these are 8'x4' pallets, very heavy. 1 got away from me and slid down my leg. Ended up spending time with the practitioners of the black arts ( hospital) now have a 1.5" x 2.5" hole in the side of my left calf- slows me down some. insult to injury on way home last Fri from Hosp. suv died. So far looks like battery gave up, won't hold charge. Got new one yesterday, haven't had time to install it yet. kinda involved, buried up behind eng under dash. Have to pull the wipers & cowling off to get access-fun
