Post for free elm, but some people don't know how to identify trees. This is right up the road from me, so I had to drive by. It is clearly locust. And what really sucks is I can't get it anytime soon. I have something going on with my stomach/abdomen, and can't bend over or stand back up straight without terrible pain. I had scans and tests done on Sunday, only for the Doctor to tell me it is gastritis. It feels like severe back pain, but all the around to the front of my lower stomach. I just hope that anybody in the area that sees the post hates elm, and doesn't look too much into it. Hopefully by this Sunday the medication they gave me starts to work, and I can go cut some up. My son told me if he had his license he would go get it. I don't fully trust him on the saws yet. He has only cut easy stuff, and I don't want to get him injured, especially during football season. He is doing really good this year and on the 1st string, so don't want to risk anything.
Hate that you’re not feeling good Pricey106 … rest up. Also hate to say this, but that doesn’t look too BLish to me. Nothing wrong with farwood tho.
The main stump is still there, I am 99% sure it is black locust. Small oval shaped leaves in bunches. If I drive past again, I will double check and get pics.
Looks more like Siberian Elm than BL to me. Ive been fooled a few times before because sometimes the bark can look almost identical.
Now I really have to stop for leaf pics, and maybe grab at least a couple rounds and split it. Maybe you guys are making me feel better by telling me it's not BL, and I am not losing out on it.
There are some compound looking leaves in the pic. I don’t think I’ve seen a Siberian elm, but the Chinese Elm has small leaves. The wood is not dark enough to be Chinese.
Hope you get feelin' better. And tell your son good luck in his football season... ... But it really does appear to be more elm like to me also.
Sorry to hear you are not well. I had a bout of diverticulitous few years ago and the lower abdominal pain was rather severe. Had CT scan and one had almost ruptured. Get well real soon to grab the BL. My first impression wasnt BL, but after closer examination i see leaves that resemble BL. Get some closeup pics to confirm Pricey. EDIT. Looks like BL far right edge of pic, but leaves on logs looks like elm
Pretty sure it's not a hernia, was checked for that. When I take a bunch of Pepto, I seem to get relief. Just need some time I guess.
Did the check your appendix. Hope you are better. Not sure what tree that is but the leaves look like locust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m not a doctor but maybe ask if some probiotics should be in your regimen. Things can make a world of difference when the gut isn’t working right. And fast. Take care.
Sorry to hear about your pain Pricey106. Hope you get well soon. Make sure you aren't getting dehydrated!! Pound the water.
The bark doesn't look like BL to me - doesn't have the huge ridges in it and looks very thin. Like brad mentioned it doesn't look like BL leaves on the logs.
