I am trying to be patient. This morning though reminded me what cooler weather feels like. I like it. Now I have to get the stove ready.

Get stove-prep done now. Before you/anyone feels a chill in the air and want to start a fire

    Stove in house = done
    Garage furnace = done

I don't mind cooler weather but don't want to rush it , still want to do some warm weather activities before the change of seasons.

As uncomfortable as it can be sometimes, I actually like the Summer heat. I could live on the Gulf Coast no problem.
I like the heat of a wood stove, too. I can dress for the cold and don't mind that as long as I have a nice warm place to come into once I've had enough of the cold .

We had bad hail and my SS chimney was pretty beat up and covered by insurance. Deciding wether I want to mess with it now or wait till next down season. ‍♂️ It’s all exposed so easy nuff to change out I suppose. But I figure the dents wouldn’t matter as my wood is gooder n dry. Still
Plenty hot here in Nebraska but it’ll be here before I know it.

Cleaned out the stove in May but I need to pick up some firebricks. How do you cut those things anyway?
I am ok with mid-summer. I need some hostas and it looks like they are going on sale. :)

I’m enjoying the rewards of the garden. Putting stuff up and getting ready for winter. I love the cold, hope we have a real winter.

Angle grinder and a diamond wheel.
You can cut about anything with these.
Including concrete lined ductile iron pipe. (Takes about 15 minutes to cut a 16" pipe. Or the equivalent of 50" of 1/2" cast iron with a 1/4" of concrete.)
I think that blade was $11

I still look forward to days with highs in low to mid 60's and lows in 40's. One can get a lot accomplished outdoors then and the bugs seem to be calming down.

We've had so many rainy days, the sunny ones are a treat, even if it's hot!

Over all I am enjoying this year's summer as we are actually getting a summer. Temps have been running about 68 to 72 F during the day with no really cold westerly. The only thing is it is getting dry and that is not a good thing for our area. Trees are getting brown already.

That's your summer?? Wow, wouldn't that be nice.... I'll trade you some mid 90's and high RH for some of that!
