moresnow, The outfitter must have sprayed heavy around our cabin because we spent a lot of time outside. No bugs on the water either. But ventured out from the cabin 100 yards and the noise from the mosquitos alone was crazy.

I had a zapper and replaced it with the Dynatrap which cost around double. I would say the zapper was good but the Dynatrap is doing better. Bang for the buck, the zapper is probably better.

Mosquitoes haven’t been bad here but these darn horse flies are the worst.

I installed one of those Dynatrap things about three years ago, it seems to do a good job at keeping the mosquitos under control.

I chuck the dunks in every body of water....small ponds, swamps, storm drains, drainage ditches...they seem to work... not a skeeter....not even one last night.
Its time to get more though....I load up after every major rainy spell.

So far I've been out x2 or 3 this year, tossing puckies. I go thru 20 at a shot.

I've tried the pucks. You must have to watch dates carefully. I've had some not dissolved/disintegrated or <gone> and mosquito larvae in the rain barrel. I kinda gave up on my rain barrels. They're still upside down from last Fall.

To those who use the donuts that you throw in the water, you are best served by checking the water for larve before putting out the treatment. If no larve shows, you might do just as well by throwing some dollar bills in the water. Also, you can get ganules much cheaper than buying the donuts. We have stopped using the donuts in our county just because of the cost and find the granules work even better...if used correctly.

I've been giving out the mosquito treatment for several years and am amazed at how few people use the stuff as it is intended. Some even try to treat their grass and this is a total waste. Same with a pond. Don't waste treatment on ponds.

We should see a increase too but when I was splitting yesterday there wasn't one skeeter around but last night when I finally hit the sleeper, that skeeter found me!

When I was talking with Backwoods Savage a while ago, I told him that our town treated for blackflies but not for skeeters, my wife corrected me on that and they do treat different areas for both.
