I’m not a big pistol fanatic, I have a cwp and my share of sidearms, but I don’t love a pistol like I do a long gun.

kinda like Matthew Quigley “ said I never had much use for one, never said I didn’t know how to use it”

Inherited a couple Ruger 22s, never owned a handgun before.

    Ayuh

The land trust is well over 2000 acres so they do allow hunting, you never know when you're going to run into a rogue squirrel.

But that's not what you were getting at now was it?;)

Nice looking plinkers DaveGunter and there are plenty of people that have voluntarily chosen both to a) own a firearm and b) get the jab. I’m one of them. Anyway, those look like fun to have. Cheap to shoot and good for target practice.

Gotta agree Clem. I wish I had like 13 or something like that. I’m not as cool as my wife though, she has a couple she proudly displays. She can’t swim so doesn’t go out in the boat.

What is the difference between single and double action on a handgun? I saw some videos and they both seemed to be auto-loading...? The guy didnt appear to be pulling a hammer back for the single action shots. Am I missing something? Maybe it is only the first shot that needs to have the hammer/slide cocked?
This was from honest outlaw on YouTube. The guy is a pretty amazing shot.

Single action requires the hammer to be pulled back (cocked) before firing, like a 1911. Double action will cock the hammer by pulling the trigger, like a Sig Sauer P226.

When you move the slide back on a 1911 it cocks it. So when you rack the slide to chamber the first round it cocks it, then the recoil after every shot repeats the process.

Which one is better, a Glock or a 1911?

    Now ya dun it.

The answer is both. They are both better than each other. Depends on what you like.

Glocks area simple, cheap, and reliable. Ergnomics suck for me with the grip angle and the trigger usually isn't great.

1911 feels great in the hand and a shoots great. They tend to be heavy to carry and you can spend as much as you want on one.... sky is the limit.
