No cutting today or over the weekend. Worked late there and was too sweaty already and cutting would be in the sun! Homeowner moved most of the red maple rounds to the back though. IMG_5154.JPG
Hot again tomorrow so may not cut. I will have saws with me.

Cut more oak for about half hour after work then got poured on...thunderstorm. Im backing out in the rain, looked at the wood id cut and saw this. IMG_5159.JPG
A rainbow that ended in his yard. I got out and looked for the pot of gold but nothing! Dang.
Guess the wood is my gold!

Got the rest of the oak top bucked up yesterday. Just the trunk left. He has been moving the rounds. IMG_5177.JPG Later i was moving some rounds and found this garter snake. Seems they like pin oak as the second i found there and there was several in the other pin i cut in his yard last Summer. IMG_5180.JPG His dog Buffy liked the snake. I let it go unharmed in the woods. IMG_5179.JPG

At some point, im going to be interested in hearing tales of this all wood being sold/burned.
A friend at work sells wood, but doesn't deliver. Our local questionable quality wood dealer (Julianos Pools) was selling for $300/cord. By that number, you're sitting on $15,000 worth of cordwood!

Im also starting to think like you: finding other places other than here to stash my hoard. This next one is going to push my space limits.

Been splitting a lot over the last two days. All the front yard is clean (save for three chunky oak rounds i moved today). All the maple was finished in back today. IMG_5225.JPG IMG_5226.JPG IMG_5227.JPG IMG_5235.JPG Always metal hiding. Luckily not found with the saw! IMG_5229.JPG Just oak in the front left to split and the two white oaks to CS in back.

Man, you're a real work horse!
Its gonna pay dividends to have a good heart, limber joints, and that much stamina as you age to perfection.

Maple doesn't reveal it's hidden treasures like red oak does.

Glad your saw missed them buggers.

Set up some blocks, 4x4's and pallets and started stacking. (Splits from February score still in front getting stacked too. Mound on the right of the stack.) IMG_5250.JPG IMG_5251.JPG Bucked some skinnies and did some splitting until the rain got too heavy. IMG_5252.JPG
Just the oak rounds left, then lots of stacking.
