80* at 10AM I quit for the day.
Been needing to get the dock in the river. It's shady there and usually a nice breeze from across the open heath. It was 98* when we finished up.
    I'm going swimming tomorrow

Hey fuelrod. What kind of tires on the front of that beast? R-1s on rears. Turfs of front?

Gas I'm not sure if they have an "R" designation or what that style is called, but I've heard them called Nokian (type) snow tires, European, and a few others. They work great for my soils and have great road manners and ride. A lot of towns around here run them on their backhoes and road graders and are seeing much longer tread wear. 20201214_113722.jpg
Here's a better look at the tread, these are for the rear eventual replacements, I have some cracking in the sidewalls on my original tires that I was concerned about making it through the winter.
I wouldn't choose these if I were operating in heavy clay, but for our sandy-gravely soils I can still dig 4 holes real fast and with more rubber on the ground they should last a lot longer.

Will do. I made a trip down to "Pete's tire barn" southwest of Manchester NH. There's several manufacturers, Alliance and BKT come to mind. Nokian's (as I understand it) is a softer rubber compound that is more serious about the snow aspect but I believe that comes at a price in terms of tread wear.

Thanks my fronts will need to be replaced sooner.

I am only guy I know with clay that wants wider less tread tires. I mow my swampy clay area. 10,000 years of cattails have a layer over swamp. You break through your going to the frame! If you float on top in a drought it works..

I'm not doing chit today other than trying to get out of the sun without being inside in the ac.
Once that happens (ac), I'm definitely done.

That looks like a great little workhorse! A neighbor has a B4200 for $3200 that looks nice, and seeing pictures of your 7100 is making me really tempted to get it.

Those ROPS look a little..uhh... short... I take it you have trees to get under or a low building entry way you need to get into?

Yeah the rops is way shorter than I’d like. The previous owner took a hacksaw to it so he could fit it in his shed. I’d like to replace it but I’m not sure a stock replacement would fit in my shed either. I’d like to look at a folding model or one that’s maybe 3/4 the normal height.

that is a little homemade woodstove I use to burn the scrap pieces I generate when splitting wood, keeps the bugs away and the smell/ambience keeps me excited for burning season to come. Made from an old steel bucket and some 4” pipe with real woodstove legs haha obviously I was bored one day

Finally had time to work on the corner lot again. Had 3 stumps left in the lower left corner to dig out. It had gotten really dry, so it took a bit longer, but the grapple got it done. Will do so more raking and leveling later. 0614211326.jpg
