Left this morning little before 8am.

Cut up a broke off top of a basswood, few dead pecker polls of elm and a top of a oak.

Also worked on whacking down buckthorn as I went.

Cut down a dead elm and got it all cut into rounds but didn't have room and my back was complaining at me.

Found a basswood that is dead and falling over, I ended up cutting it off the stump and will give it a few days, hopefully the wind will take it down the rest of the way, tangled up in the top.

Also found a huge maple that broke off 2 out of the 3 trees.

This has been some nice wood working weather the last week. You really need a skidder or tractor though.

Would love a skidder, but there is a tractor there I can use, could also drive mine over there but was only going for a truck load today so wasn't to bad sledding it out.

I spent the last few months truck shopping, (holy crap have truck prices gone up). Found a couple I was approved for then had issues so walked away from them, then found a 2001 Gmc 3500 dually, 6.6 diesel with 102k miles wanted that one so bad but was 15k really didn't know if I wanted a loan that big, I was dumb in my younger years and wasn't nice to my credit, been rebuilding it but still not great, so my interest rate is higher. Then found this truck, well used rusty farm truck, gooseneck hitch, 4wd, $1500, so was able to buy it with no loan, can keep working on my credit and get the truck I want in a couple years and not pay 20% interest. So stuck with dodge work truck for a while but my DD is still a chevy! And at least it's not a ford

The truck you have is the truck you have. You gotta dance with the girl you bring to the party, right? All that matters is the truck is full of wood, you went out and had a nice day cutting and posted some good pics. All is good the way I'm looking at it. Keep cutting and posting them pics!

I've been truck shopping for several months. Prices are crazy. At least to me anyway.

Nothing wrong with a $1500 truck. Cheap on insurance, taxes, and you’re not strapped to a payment. If someone’s shopping cart dings it, it won’t ruin your day. Smart move in your situation. I was in the same boat years ago. Did a lot of dumb crap in my 20s burying myself in debt, got a raw deal when I got divorced and ended up with all the debt. Kept making dumb financial moves for a while... Anyway, after a while of doing the right things and sacrificing a few tax returns I was able to get out of debt and have good credit again. Keep your eye on the ball and put that rusty Dodge to work! Get everything you can from it and enjoy not making payments. Stay the course, it’s well worth it.
