My dad and I filled our trucks with easy to handle Douglas fir today. We cut it all in one spot where a recent wind storm knocked a few down right next to the road . We cut an alder on the way out just to top off our loads.
Good looking wood there. That’s about as easy as it gets. Not much brush to fight through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have you got a couple T100's there? They look to be in good shape and can haul a decent load of wood.
Nice scrounge. Familiar looking woods as well. Douglas fir that campinspecter seems to find is a little bigger but that is a nice size to handle.
I recently (August) bought a 1998 T100 4X4 w/ 152,000 miles on it from my Father In Law. He lives in Custer, S.D. and the truck originated in the Denver area so it has seen some salty roads and is rusting a bit. So far I am liking it and they have quite a reputation for durability and longevity. Those are some nice looking trucks you have!!
Awesome trucks! I started with a T. That sucker had some major rust/corrosion issues and I offloaded it to get the V8 Tundra. Nice roadside wood score too. It's always great to get wood that has easy access.
I carry a shotgun on a few hikes during grouse season, but haven't really worked with her on hunting. She only got her first grouse this last fall.
Back at it yesterday. The first 1/3 of my load was maple, then I found a couple of alders that were hung up about chest high for the rest.
