Yep, I prefer the reach of the longer bars. I have a 20" on my 261 C and if I thought it could handle it, I would put a 24" on it, and I am tempted to try it, anyway, like maybe with 3/8" skip tooth. I run a 24" on my 362 and a 28 on my 462, and I am contemplating getting a 32" for the 462. I think if I had to go down to only one saw, it would be either the 362 with the 24" bar or maybe go to the 462 and run a 24" on it which would probably be a really good combination with the extra power of the 462.

happysawer4741 FYI, MS goes before the number in your saw. And any other letters go after the numbers. This website has a good cheat sheet for what the numbers and letters mean. I usually have to look it up for a refresher.

What do STIHL Chainsaw model numbers mean?

I was always told the MS stood for mediocre saw.

Good thread, I didn't know that the 088/880 used a different bar than the 50/60/70/90 cc stihl saws.
