Mike, our neighbor, was given this big white oak that fell a couple years ago. He had already cut the smaller stuff out of the yard and road. He doesn't have a big saw or loader. He is always helping us whenever he can, and rarely let's us pay him. So when I found out about the tree and had a day off, we tackled it, only a few miles from home. Had grown up with brush and briars Main trunk, had a small gully under it. We got out 1 load Wednesday afternoon from the big limbs We went back Thursday, got another load before tackling the trunk Cut some smaller trees around it and pushed brush, small trees and dirt into the gully, making a safe area to work. Got the trunk cut into 4 1/2' logs If he doesn't want all of it, we have a shed empty...

Nice work Jeff! Always nice to pay back when someone helps you out. That tangle remind me of what i have to go through around here sometimes. Amazing how nature takes back.
We finally got started on some of this white oak for Mike's family. We got the first trailer load of logs processed. He got 3/4 load of 14" splits for their stove, and then we cut over a cord of 22" for his nephew's fireplace. 1st couple logs to buck. Mike and Miz Carol working hard splitting and loading his trailer. Biggest log on that load is in the foreground. I forgot to get a picture of the stove wood, bit this is the first load of fireplace wood. Measured out to be 8/10ths cord, all he wanted to put on his trailer. We couldn't put the big log on that load, so he came back Thursday morning. Those big rounds turned out some nice splits.
