It's a calm nice day outside today so I started a scrap/brush pile on fire. A while after it was burning I got to looking at one of the 2 willow trees that need to come down, miss redneck has wanted them down for years now but I haven't been for that. But they are right were our driveway expansion is going in and the big one is dieing.

So I figured I already have a fire going why not. So I started in on the smaller one and as cutting it the brush went right onto the big burning fire.

After I dropped it I don't feel as bad cutting it down as it was on its way out, whole center is hallow.

It's not the best wood. But burns better then snow
Not sure how splitting will go, I have heard willows hard to split as is and theses have survived a few tornados so I'm sure there is no straight grain in it :hair:

I would probably burn some too given that it is home already, just not my favorite by far.

Never have processed any willow. Perfect day for a nice big fire though.
