Since ive had it for breakfast and brunch (prior thread titles) i decided why not for lunch. Last load from this score about 45 minutes from me. Early afternoon cutting. Had a job to do nearby so stopped and got the rest prior. IMG_3584.JPG IMG_3585.JPG IMG_3577.JPG Bucked them to 8' sections for the most part. 10" DBH was biggest tree.
Flip flopped sections onto hillside and backed truck to load. IMG_3576.JPG Im ready to leave took a walk up on the knoll and found another tree near the beginning that i missed. (not the one pictured) Pull the saw back out and get it too. Trees fell in a domino effect of sorts over 200' Pic of rootball stumps. IMG_3583.JPG
So maybe a future BL scrounge late in the day for supper??? Maybe when there is more daylight?

Does that split about like Mulberry? That looks like it would split pretty nice!

Great score! How’s the 170 been treating you since it’s visit to the dealer?

It does and its a beautiful thing. Even big BL splits easy. Does BL grow in your area Sinngetreu? Rare scrounge for you?
Working okay but i think i have it sold. Want a MS193 0r 194 rear handle.

Yeah, its not totally unheard of, but its pretty rare that I run across it. So much so that when I found a sapling, I planted it in my front yard. Its about 3mm DBH currently.
Mulberry on the other hand grows like frickin weeds around here. If I just cut all the volunteers on my acreage that I need to clean up and leave the mature ones, I could probably heat for a season with just that.

That would be "Locust for a Midnight Snack" I like the way you think Mike!

Keep an eye on it after storms. Bet more will go down and a boatload of them growing there too. Only will get bigger

Exact opposite here...well sort of. BL is elusive and the number of mulberry trees ive seen you can count on two hands. Matter of fact the first actual tree ive ever cut was on Tuesday. Ive scrounged some at the dump but thats it.

Nice score. You had me worried after you appeared to be on a new Mulberry kick. Glad to see the old Brad we know and love is back

Id love to be on a mulberry kick. Mulberry mania rolls off the tongue better than locust mania!
Trying to figure out more storage for BL.
    Any mulberry near you?
