I took it down much lower, I just didn't take a picture. I have a some stumps that I won't dig up this year that will get lowered closer to the ground but I'll use the 660 which wasn't in the Rhino.
Since it was a nice day today, I did the fall cleaning of the gutters. I did get back by the Brook and did a small job the wife wanted done before the gutters.
I had some smaller rounds that I stacked first and then split some other rounds I had left from the spring ash felling that finished up this stack.
I had a scetchy job for my niece This poplar which they said was oak. Was hard leaning towards a power line. And a loaded pear tree We wedged a 450 against the lean The winch is broke I tickled it with a 372 while he pushed it. It stood straight up and over The dozer operator said this makes your heart go pitter patter We got 4 loads of firewood out of it
I'm still doing my dead pine cleanup of this area, in picture 1156 you can see the base was rotten and in picture1158 is the dead pine I felled/split, four loads went over to the outside fireplace The last rounds I split were from the downed pine in picture 1155, another two plus loads were split and brought over to the outside fireplace.
Cutting standing dead for my nephew He's no saw man. I give it to his neighbor with copd He can't cut much anymore. High winds were to my back and helped Spin this into a pocket I had for it.
Thanks T.Jeff Veal , I hadn't planned on doing this much on clearing dead pine this year but I'm glad I did. I did get rid of about seven stumps this fall from some of the stump pulling I did in 2018 which opened up the first trail into the area I'm working. The worst part of opening up this area.....more dead pine that I'll need to take care of.
This morning when I went to start the Rhino it didn't want to start (it was only 17.2, not that cold) so the first thing I did was check the positive and negative connections. Both posts had no buildup but the positive was loose so I tighten that up and put the trickle charger on it for an hour. While it was on the trickle charger, I made my way to the fireplace and started a nice fire with the dead pine. After an hour on the trickle charger I used the Rhino most of the of the day hauling more dead pine over to burn, the battery seems fine but we'll see. I used the RTV the last three hours of the day hauling more dead pine over to the reducer, once the RTV warms up, that heater will make it real toasty inside the cab but I still missed the cold breeze you get out in the open with the Rhino.
My garden tractor refused to start yesterday. It clicked a few time like it wanted to start, but then it went dead. I bought a new battery today thinking that would fix the problem. It didn't. I checked the seat interlock and that was good, I jumped the terminals and it still wouldn't start. I don't know where the other interlocks are so it will be taken to the dealer to get it fixed.
