What's organic firewood cost per cord? Might be a good way to advertise and up charge for.

Caller: Hi I would like to buy a cord of wood, how much would that cost?

Wood dealer: Yes sir regular wood is $250 a cord but if you want premium certified forest raised natural organic grade A seasoned firewood that will be $1000 a cord
Caller: Ok I would like the premium certified forest raised natural organic grade A seasoned wood please because that sounds much better.

I want to say something really cynical about the next generation being completely helpless and dependent on... But it's best I don't. I don't want to sound like one of those up tight people in the era of Elvis complaining about those darn kids and their rock and roll... :)

    Don't laugh....

Someone told me that near the just outside of Montrose Co (on the way towards Ridgeway) there is a place that sells firewood bundles. One stack of firewood bundles is just "normal" (normal as you can get for bundled firewood) where the other stack of bundles is listed as "organic firewood". :picard:

Ok, I'll say it in P.T. Barnum's words. "There's a sucker born every minute". My words, "stupid should hurt".

Since we are obviously talking about marketing to elitists, do you think Made in USA or Imported could demand a higher price?

Good point. It's hard to have a chuckle about elitists without acknowledging our own elitist tendencies. Or is Made In The USA more of a nationalist than elitist thing?

I don't see made in the USA as an elitist thing. Its having pride in knowing it was made in your country. No outsourcing of jobs, etc.

Not that "Made in the USA" always means that though. Could be a USA based company that only does assembly of foreign made parts, or vice versa.

The term elitist was my second choice of term for this type of buyer. My first choice had negative overtones about a particular side of the political aisle so I decided since politics is to be kept out of FHC, I would abide by the rules.

Just a marketing ploy to keep up with those that feel the need to "be green"??? Must be working; pay a little more to the firewood guy and he's laughing about it all the way to the bank!!

The only firewood I would ever buy would have to made from "Free Range" trees. Who cares if it is organic if it was grown cooped up in some woodlot!
