I only get a few hours a week to cut and split so it's taking a bit to fill the tote cages. Should have 11 done by the end of today. Currently...
They are nice. The thing is you can split and stack right into them. Put the cage one or two steps from the splitter. Only caveat is you do need a decent size machine with forks to move them around.
Kubota MX5100 with Rim Guard (beet juice) and 300# of modified Farmall H rear wheel weights is just enough for a full tote of green beech and red oak. Got to the goal of 11 completed and I got one MS 361 tank of fuel worth of logs blocked and ready for the splitter and totes tomorrow. I got another 14 totes from my guy yesterday. I need to pull the plastic out of all of them. Not too sure about using them as roofs yet, I can get tons of 3' wide conveyor belt that would easily roll up as I pull a tote for use.
First load was a bottle of Bourbon Barrel aged and a bottle of Ghost Pepper Maple Syrup. For this one, and since I found out of freaking awesome they are, I'm sending him a case of Bourbon Syrup to hand out to his employees.
Nice!!! I gave $20 apiece for mine. I’d love to get enough for 2 years worth. Third year being in the woodshed. I need to contact the guy I got mine from
The YouTuber hometownacres had a video on them a few weeks ago. That reminded me that my buddy said he had a bunch. I texted him and he said how many do I want? I initially thought I'd just have a few to take care of what I burn that won't fit in the shed to complete the season. Now, I'm thinking I want as many as he'll let me take.
I tried that...hate it...the stuff is so heavy that it is really difficult to handle by yourself (and mine is only 30" or so wide) even worse, it is stiff enough that it blows off just like a big HEAVY sheet of plywood.
I like cutting the plastic and making a roof. You can space them a little for air flow and move them where ever you want and it’s always top covered. I have roughly 3 years worth of wood in totes. They are a great thing!!
