A few weeks ago I saw one my tree guy contacts buying a 5 gallon pail at the hardware store. I asked him why he didn’t get one for free from a painter/spackler. He said he didn’t know anybody that well. So I told him that I would take care of him. I called another friend who is a painter and got 4 spackle pails from him. Gave them to my tree guy last week and this nice load of ash appeared today. Not a bad trade.
Got all but 2 crotchety pieces split today. Did it in the driveway so I didn't trash the lawn. Stacked neat in one row as I went. I'll need to move it later. Came in at just over a cord. Pieces were cut on average to 16", stack was 25' long and 5.5' tall. About 1/3 of a season worth of wood. Not to shabby. This is the rotation for about '23 Now I can tell my guy that he can bring another load.
I agree! Those two crotchety pieces, you can get a couple easy pieces off the ends, then leave the "y" pieces for a camp fire or an ugly load.
