Cleaning out a fence line & a couple over hangers along the road. 1 piece of Osage in the back of the pickup & 12 small rounds of Cedar in the trailer. Also mowed around the pasture/hayfield pile for the last time this year.
Glad to see some trees in the distance in that last pic...that's wide open!! Nice place to air out some wood.
Some nice rounds. You make some great firewood JB! Love that old Ford! What year? How long have those stacks been there? Nicely weathered.
It’s a 97 F-250. The woodpile in the pasture/hayfield pile was just done this spring it’s Hackberry, Cherry, Mulberry & Osage. Roughly 20 cord. The wood pile at home in the background of of this pic has been there anywhere from 2 weeks up to 3 years.
I had a 1986 F150 bought used from my brother in 1988, 2001 F150 bought new. Ran both til they died. Has i taken better care of them they may have lasted longer. Bought my current 2008 F150 three years ago (price for a stock new one almost made me faint). Cant say a bad thing about them. I work em hard. I know Locust Post (how's Black Betty doing?) would approve as well
I'm surprised how dry the corn looks already. You must have gotten that in early. Good for you. We see some fields drying fairly well here but some still really green. The freeze we just had will hasten it along though.
A frost here would be beneficial to even up the beans. We had about 5 weeks with no rain & set things drying a bit ahead of normal. I believe that field corn was planted the last week of April. Beans will start coming out hot & heavy this week. It will be about 2- 3 weeks before the corn starts up heavy around here.
You are a bit ahead of us but that is normal. At least we have crops all over this year rather than just mud last year.
Silage season/chopping is pretty well over here, my neighbor got his done over the weekend. He’s usually about the last one, 99% of the corn is too dry.
