Snakes love woodpiles almost as much as we do.

Looks like a Bull snake= harmless! They keep the rodents under control.

Don't fret. By the time you need to grab off the pile, he will have done his job and moved on. Most likely thinning the mouse herd considerably before they try moving in with you. Judging from his apparent thickness, he's doing a fine job.

I'm not a big snake fan either. I would have probably got the shotgun out

I leave snakes alone these days. But they make me ill at the sight of them. I can look at a rodent without the reaction I get from seeing a snake.

Hmm, tapered and pointed do not seem like mutually exclusive categories. How do you tell the difference?

I much rather deal with a snake than stinky mice.

I wish something would come along here and reduce the chipmunk population.

Get a jack Russell or a cat. When I had a cat that went outside, he left chips on the front step fairly often. He also got reds but no grays. I can't have an outside cat now. For some odd reason we have a population explosion of predatory animals. I won't risk loosing another pet for a wild animals dinner.

My attack cat took care of my flying squirrel issues in the attic. The vet bills are cheaper than an exterminator.

I'd lend you Billy Bob, Minnie, and Samson for a few days but having your own hunters is much more rewarding

We'd love to have cats but my wife is allergic to them. She can barely get through a dinner in a house that a cat lives in.

I can't legally shoot them, even with a BB gun. With 1/3 of an acre it is rather difficult to get away with.

Rat traps and peanut butter work, but other chipmunks move in just as fast.
