This was taken down by one of the storms last year, from the first picture I'm thinking it's a Sugar, chime in if you think different. Picture 9430 would be the path to roll the rounds down the hill, picture 9431 is up the hill, I'm not sure if a dray would work, chime in with your thoughts. It's actually not a bad place to cut, I was thinking it was steeper.
These are down from the Maple, pic 9434 is another old Maple branch, in pic 9435 we have a Cherry, the other I'm not sure.
I have some smaller Sugar Maple branches I'll take of first then we'll get this. The firewood this year has been higher btu wood, usually we have more Cherry, since spring I only cut about three cord of Cherry.
Is that a hemlock to the right of the roll lane in 9430 and 9435. Very pretty woods! Downhill seems the only way to go for me assuming you have access below.
Yes it is. That would roll down to a small ravine behind our house, I'm thinking there would be a chit load of clean up before I could roll them down.
I'm not sure on the maple ID... Looks like sugar, but I'm not sure. It does look like a good firewood maple to me if you can get it out without much trouble. Looks pretty fresh and should split like butter with lots of small rounds that don't need to be split. I would like to see pics of the freshly split stacks when your done with this one. Mark
