Well you can invite your dad over for dinner. Lol. Now did your dad have a lot of input to the design or did you work together on it.
The are rooms are 21' x 19.5". Upstairs ceiling is 7"6" up to 10'8" ceiling at the peak, downstairs ceiling is 8'9" with the beam coming down to 8'. Wife left them completely open to aid in accessibility. There is a little extra rectangle 5'8' x 9'2" that includes the elevator shaft, most of the upstairs bathroom and part of downstairs kitchen. That puts ballpark 900 sq-ft total, 800 living space. Thanks for making me go out and get the final measurements. That was fun. It was definitely a collaboration between my wife and her father. She is an Occupational Therapist who specializes in helping seniors age in place, so this was right in her wheelhouse. She literally had a blank slate to design everything how she and FIL wanted it. She did most of the layout and design and he chose most of the finish stuff like flooring, paint, appliances, counters, cabinets, etc. I just sit back and watch them create. It's been wonderful!
Worked on putting up some temporary electronetting today. By tomorrow, they should have about 2 acres of this to browse. They love it.
Sold and delivered the first lamb of the season. Mr. Hercules is heading off to a flock of his own ewes to service this Fall. He road so well in the back of the station wagon At least 3 of the ewe lambs are on reserve for delivery to another farm in Sept. Good start on re-homing.
BMW goat hauler Reminds me of when my former FIL hauled a full sized pony home in the backseat of his Cadillac...and his driving was not good...scared the poo outta the poor thing... My neighbor told me that he was hauling some sheep to the auction in the back of his truck the other day and a couple in a Mercedes with out of state plates flags him down to ask for directions...asked what he was doing with the sheep...they ended up buying them from him...paid a premium for delivery too...and it was only a couple miles away (newly moved to town I guess)
exactly! Actually, I'm just not in the mood to build an enclosure for the bed of the truck. It's on my list, but right now I'll just chuck them in the station wagon..
I used to have this setup for my old truck and it worked great. Our pig adopted it as his home a couple years ago. I'll probably knock together something very similar once I have to start transporting full grown sheep.
