Went to a flea market today and got some axes.

    Diamond Edge forged tool steel
    HOMESTEAD
no name or markings...probably recently made, bit old enough to not have warning labels forged in
    PEXTO

    $5

There was a beautiful 12 inch double bit axe with relief cheeks. I was so excited until I saw the buried bit...that had a semi circle broke out of the edge. I was still tempted to buy it for $2.

How can you go wrong for 5 bucks. Nice haul and you will have to show some pics when you get one done with a handle and cleaned up.

Another homestead this time a single bit and a double bit that appears to be mounted upside down.

Latest two axes wire brushed and mushroomed edges ground down. The temper line still shows up.

Two bit axe is a SAGER?

Need a pile of good handles soon.

Interesting. My label is a tall SAGER, straight not curved and everything under the SAGER is lost to wear and time.

I looked at some videos and it's too narrow,a bit to bit, to be a western axe. I need to weight it to see if it's a cruiser

One more this weekend. Craftsman 6 lb USA splitting maul IMG_20200614_194246472.jpg . $1.50 Not the best, quality wise, but better than the new stuff from India and China.

All most all of them have the rust removed. I have one still in a broken handle.
