I just found some nice stackable black plastic pallets
here in the Columbus, Ohio area! He wanted $10 each,
but I offered him $100 for 16 of them and he said fine.
Being delivered this afternoon. My pickup still has the
full load of Black Locust in it from almost 4 weeks ago. I fell
in the garage really hard on my left side and bruised a
couple of ribs so I've been out of commission for splitting.
I split the wood off the trailer last week, and will split the
load off the truck this week. These plastic pallets will be
used in the future after I sell off the Cherry and Ash I have
    stacked on wood pallets.[IMG][IMG]

Nice score, I use plastic pallets as well. They work great under cover but the pockets where the “feet” are tend to fill with water. The splits over them tend to stay wet. I drill a bunch of holes in the bottom of them to help with drainage. Not trying to be a downer just sharing experience.

Yep drill holes in those pockets, along the sides as well, because they will sink into the dirt and won't drain as quickly once the bottoms holes plugg up.
PS: get that weight off that truck asap or you'll be looking to get new leaf springs. At the very least attempt to jack it up to get the weight off the leafs..

I have not found any of the plastic ones, of course I have not searched really hard. I just brought 4 new heavy oak ones home at lunch today.

I love mine, they’ll be here and still working long after I’m gone. No more redoing anything because of rotted pallets.

dahmer that's some real nice pictures of your plastic pallet setup (really love the tennis balls on the t-posts!)
Reminds me of when I was a custodian at a local junior high school and we used tennis balls on the end of a
broom handle to erase the black shoe marks off the floors! I really wish I would have started my wood stacks
using plastic pallets. Oh well you know what they say, learn from your mistakes.
I also believe these pallets I'm getting already have drain holes in the feet. I'll find out when they are delivered
tomorrow. If not, I will certainly drill them out!

I hope you heal up quick from that fall! Good luck with the pallets.

Jack Straw , thank you and I have actually, finally, completely healed up!
My truck full of Black Locust is in my garage out of the rain.
We can't get a break from the rain so I can drive the truck out back to
my processing area! (we just got another 2" of rain last night)
I was barely able to split the trailer of wood last week.
Looks like I'm going to have to split the truck load in the garage. Pallets are
supposed to be delivered today. I would pick them up, but my truck is indisposed.
I hope the feet actually do have drain holes in them, so I won't have to drill them out.
(My sister is currently living in Bloomfield, NY)

Im so glad you’re ok! Bloomfield looks to be a few hours West of here. Looks like we both live right off route 20. It’s been a little dry here for Spring. Seems like it’s always too wet or too dry! :picard:

OK my plastic pallets arrived! They are 39" x 43", and yes, they do have drain holes
in the feet so no need to do a bunch of drilling! 16 pallets in that small stack, WooHoo! IMG_0978.JPG IMG_0979.JPG
