Lucky you! Ticks are rampant here, and have already been out for werks. Several diseases besides Lyme, one that makes you highly allergic to most 4-legged meat.

Same up here, heard the Provincial Police respond to a car/moose accident yesterday. At first, the by- standers wanted the moose, but changed their minds telling the police that it was too full of ticks and not worth bothering with.

Hoping to take the children out later this week if work allows. It will be their first time hunting and my first time hunting turkeys.

    Success !
We missed the first one, but we had another one come back later. My son could not get a good bead on the bird (it was his turn to shoot), so he let my daughter take the shot and she connected. She was able to use her birthday/Christmas present to breast out the bird... (a nice knife from my Uncle)

Congrats Eckie ! Great longbeard and nice spurs!

Our season starts this weekend but I'm in no hurry to get out there for those early morning hunts. It was 10 F last night.

WWW and kiddo are headed out next week for couple days. We don't have turkeys where we live, last one was during a long tropical'ish period of weather at our old house, guessing it was in the late 90's or early 2000's.

That's awesome that y'all got a bird! Hopefully he put on a show for the kids. Nothing like a gobbler being close and shaking the woods all around you

The crown of Washington State has deemed it too dangerous to hunt the king's turkeys at this time.

This is for breakfast, for only those two

I wonder if he remembered to bring a spatula.

I'm holding back my urge to text a reminder to make sure she gets her math, fluency, and reading done. ................ I know the routine, hunt, eat, nap/play with toys, rinse lather repeat. Sigh, I guess we have til next fall to do schooling, right?

Its amazing how fast a what-seemed-comfortable tree can become an instrument of pain and torture so shortly into an 0-dark-thirty venture....
