I got these 2 equipment pallets (stretch wrappers) from work in Sept. Going to use them as the floor for a big wood shed, each one is 7.5' x11'. Make a 11x15 floor... IMG_20190924_203245631.jpg IMG_20190925_094205871.jpg

Great start. The 3 year plan has served me well. I’m sure you will see the benefits when you get there. One that doesn’t immediately stand out is in cases of personal injury. I had almost a full year with one and it was great to not have to wrong about supply.
Keep up the awesome work and keep Sharon them pics.

Rain drove me in for the moment, but here’s the progress.
10 feet deep. Stacked 5 feet high. Estimating each face to be approximately .75 cords-

Multiply length x height x width( length of wood) divide by 128...10 x 5 x 1.5 ÷128 = shade over .5 cord, if your firewood is 18", stacked tight.

Looking good. I make my racks either 1/3 (face cord) or 1/2 cord increments or multiples of. Im always disappointed when i split rounds then stack. End up with less in stacked form than round. PU full of rounds is a half cord, but when SS it is less.:( Wood cut to consistent 16" length. One of my 10'x5' stacks equals half cord.

Good downpour for a bit here in Wallingford, then on and off rain. Good rumble of thunder too and its chilly out!

A little progress to share if you don’t mind.

My wife, my old pitbull, and our new mutt puppy. And to those keen of eye but too polite to maybe otherwise ask-this August, a little lumberjack or lumberjane.

After Thursday, I’ll be processing wood that will be used three winters from now. This will be a first for me. Got close a couple years ago but lost about 5 months processing time due to foot surgery.

Arborist dropped another wood load here.
I’m unsure of what it is, but my buddy thinks it’s ash.
That electric saw is the e version of the ms 170. I love it.

Looks like Ash to me for the most part, the large log with the more tan color may be something else, but Ash bark can look like that too in some locations. Ash usually doesn't have that "heartwood" look either, but I'm not always the best ID guy. Either way it all looks nice and solid and should put out some great BTUs.
