    Can someone confirm if this is red maple? It felt heavier than usual and has me doubting its red but I’m really not sure

    Was guessing it could possibly be Norway maple but not sure. I’m no maple expert but it doesn’t appear to be many sugar maples on the farm. When the leaves are on I can identify red maple. I cut this tree down hoping it’s red maple for firewood late next winter since red dries out nicely in about a year

    Most definitely not red maple but agree it could be silver. Lots of sap makes it heavy.

    To me it looks like a Nice bunch of BTUs and I am also sure when you burn it you will agree.I have seen maples like that around here but not sure which type it is..
