Been planning on building a shed to organize all my wood and get on a 2 year plus plan here on LI. Space is limited to store wood so I planned on a 6’ by 6’ by 12’ shed. It’ll hold 4 cords stacked when full.

Me and my dad (74 years old and going strong thank God) said Ef this corona crap. Lets build it now.

Just about done after 3 days. Tomorrow corrugated steel roof goes on and then she’s done. Will put pavers down and stack on them.

$600 in lumber. All pressure treated. Framed with 4 by 4s all
around including 6 cemented 20” down into the ground.

I have a touch under 3 cords ready to be put in. Leaving myself a walk in I need another half cord. I know where to get just that much

Been wanting to make something substantial with him for a long time. Very fulfilling feeling. And we didn’t kill each other

A good time to get it done! Nice job. It should hold about 3 1/3 cord full.

A cord is 128 cubic feet
The inside of the shed is 504 cubic feet
So packed to the gills (which I won’t do) is a hair under 4 cords. I’m looking to get 3.5 cords into it

Great job and pic of you both. Cant wait to see follow up pics with it full. I think you have enough room to the left to build another one. After all you can never have enough firewood, can you?
I hope you sprayed wood sanitizer on the lumber prior to building it!

I see where Dennis said what he said forcapacity. It's out bigger than 6x6x12 inside?
    At any rate, nice work!

The ones I have are called "Speedpost"

Pound these into the ground. Keeps the posts out of standing water issues.
