Finding ash around here does not come up very often. I drove by this house for two weeks looking at the stumps that were left behind by someone who cut down all the branches. So I stopped and asked if they wanted the rest of the tree cut down they said yes. I cut the biggest one down first and I did cut them flush with the ground when done. I used a come along to pull it over so I did not hit the fence.
What is nice is I can hook that come along to anything. In this case it was the side of my trailer that was parked on the street.
Nice grab @magcraft I'm sure the homeowner just figured he/she had won the lottery that someone finished it up for free.
I was surprised to see a hardwood scored as i know they scarce out your way. What percentage of your wood inventory is hardwood? Nice load of wood BTW!
What would you expect? It's just around the corner from dat ash. Nice work Mag Craft ! I saw the title, and that you wrote it. I was like, hmm that's gotta be a rarity.
With this recent load of ash that will give me about 1 cord. Then I have about 4 cords of elm and about 1.5 cord of cottonwood. All the rest is Lodge pole pine which gives me a total of 12 cord of wood.
I was just thinking after an I’ll advised trip to the grocery, Thursday around quitting time, “Well, we have plenty of firewood.” If only we could figure out a way to wipe our ashes with firewood. We have plenty of paper. Scott’s rolls last a long time and I usually buy a bunch when it on sale anyways. Back on topic; that’s sweet ash score, worth noodling around on. Ash is the best burning wood I’ve found so far, while I am waiting for my white oak and Locust to dry.
