This piece was inspired by a plain, cheesy yard sale plant stand - I just liked it’s proportions. This is my design based roughly on it. White oak w cherry geometric inlay top. My first inlay effort. I thought I’d keep it simple. I made up a flush trim router template for the leg cut outs. Legs and horizontal supports are quarter-sawn/well-figured specimens. Side small horizontal pieces keep vertical slats from wandering. My second effort at hand-cut half-blind dovetails. The darn drawer took close to eight hours. No metal fasteners, 32 cherry dowels. 1 coat clear danish oil, 2 coats natural tung. No stain. Solid cast copper drawer pull from amazon, USA made. I really had to hunt for American made, which is another story altogether. My life is undeniably woodcentric.
