Went to builders supply, bought 8 square of Meadow Green siding, 4 boxes. Pull around side 2 salesmen come back to load, short handed in warehouse. Get home 3 boxes of Meadow Green 1 box of Granite Gray. Yes it is MY fault I did not double check their work.
Quite often when people at minimum wage jobs are helping me I know why they're in a minimum wage job. And there's no way their worth $15/hr.
Not sure i know why people think its ok to mix white trim with any other color. Especially dark colors. Yuck!
Thats the great part about this place though. We can all like something different and still be friends.
I agree, If you always have to check every single thing I do what’s the point of paying them to do it
The same design experts that will tear out 100yr baseboards and crown mouldings to modernize a house.
I was watching a fun gal with a home improvement show, great to watch but my jaw dropped every time she finished "modernizing" and restoring the house with one little upper and one little lower kitchen cabinet. It looks hopeful we will be in a position to improve the exterior of our house. Though the house is faded white right now, I'd like to go darker to absorb heat from the sun if we do fix it up. That said, this place does not have much resale value, so we could do whatever we want, since we won't sell it. Idk, we always said that about our previous home but actually did sell it after 21 years along with the heart, soul, and sweat equity we put into the "addition". Either way it would be nice to pull up to a proper house rather than this worn out neglected exterior. Fingers crossed we can make it happen
If I go into an old house and it has all the original trim, doors, lock sets, I buy it. Bought 2 of them last year, sold one and am working on the second one now. They can be brought back to their former glory. 12" 3 piece base, 6" 2 piece casing, brass knobs, plaster walls, character, charm, warmth, a HOME not a house. Standing proud for 100 years.
