Thank you,. He is getting there. Silver came from a breeder out of Tennessee . Bourbon from a breeder out of South Carolina sky is one of silver's puppies Bailey's came from Menomonie. We also have one more. Max. But I don't have a photo handy of him
Beautiful dog. Do take him to the groomer to have them trim a bunch of hair off in the spring. One of my sons had a big sheep dog that he had them trim it back till it was only a half inch or so long. Come fall his hair was grown back for winter.
Bummer, good luck with the surgery! My pooch had TPLO on both legs and also tore her miniscus at a later date on the right leg! She used to love to run...now she is old and fat like me!!
Ugh, one of mine had both knees at the same time. TTA is an alternative to TPLO, both are better than the ligature stabilization, esp on a young dog. Not all vets offer the TTA surgery, it was developed about a decade ago, it is less invasive than the TPLO as it doesn't cut any weight bearing bone, but it accomplishes the same geometry change of the joint, quicker recovery too.
Going for a consultation on monday. Not sure if doctor offers TTA or not. I imagine he does, according to his bio he taught orthopedic surgery at one of the colleges. Just want him to have a good recovery. Keeping him calm for several months post op going to be hard
where is this? we are always looking fo places Lucy can go swimming with friends. we go to Salt Fork usually.
I hear you on the down time being the hard part, esp when you have other dogs. Mine needed both knees done and the TTA allowed for both to be done at the same time because it doesn't cut weight bearing bone so they can bear weight on the repaired joint sooner. He also wouldn't have the down time twice and all the after surgery meds twice. It didn't really work out because he had some recovery issues, including a meniscal tear. Some dogs tear the meniscus after surgery no matter how careful you are with the recovery. It is my understanding that not all dogs are a candidate for TTA, it depends on the angle of the knee. The TTA has limitations on how much angle it can correct. Good luck.
Bow Wow Beach in Stow, OH. Great dog park, but for us it is best in Spring and Fall. The water gets a little to nasty for our pooch in the heat of Summer.
This is Pokey marie. New dog around the house. She likes vegetables and finding mice around the wood pile.
If the wife says its good, I let er have it. Broccoli is her favorite. She takes it and runs away to eat it like it is the best thing ever. She looks vicious taking it in the picture but she takes it gently as can be.
Update on this guy. We got bad news when we went in for his consultation. His ACL is partially torn. But the one xray shows signs of osteosarcoma in his ankle. Need to get another test to confirm. News hit us hard. Be sure to hug your firewood pups because you never know.
