Made a little run yesterday to my buddies logging job-had a ball game to watch and didn’t really feel like killing it early at 15*-this helped out the new rail rack, next load will fill it up for 2022 and then some ABFFCD4C-2283-49F2-AA54-09CF6B7824A5.jpeg BF28C201-8D87-4971-A6C0-DCCF289DC840.jpeg FDA09923-9B9E-477E-8E95-6778F90A008D.jpeg

Quite a few splits in those big black oak rounds, largest was 23”—-and just some fluff white oak that was waist high sticking out of a brush pile he’d pushed up...just a little cherry-picking yesterday but it all adds up right? The black oak log was on the yard, culled from a load out, just laying there waiting for me... Good score on the oak. Sorry to see your splitter broken. Can you prop it back up? :)

Surely you jest jo191145 , you know it pains me to no end to have to stand that thing up...I’m a horizontal bop kinda guy...standing, lifting and getting a work out, not wrenching my back and shoulders wooling them from that da*# bucket-at least standing it up every now and then dumps the chafe from the log catcher...

I hear ya. Tried the vertical once. Welded it in horizontal mode just so I wouldn’t make that mistake again :)

Well my friend, it is good to see that occasionally you do things right! For sure you do need a cushion and when the weather is cool or cold, a hot seat works best.

You really do a nice job of stacking that wood too.

Thank you and I hope to some day take you up on that offer. Perhaps one of the times we visit our son in PA we can take a trip down there. We also want to take that trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway again. What would be ideal and we've talked about it would be for us to buy another motor home (haven't had one for a long time now) and I'd love to take a summer trip and make a big swing looking up hoarders as we go. One more dream.

And a good woman to share it with...

Actually I would also like to ride the length of it on my bicycle too. I'd need to be in much better shape than I'm in now.

Hey Sir Backwoods Savage, google Snowshoe Mountain, Highlands Scenic Highway, Cass Scenic Railroad and Pocahontas County WV if you want to see some beauty, and much more bikeable than Blue Ridge-about 2.5 hrs from my home-got married there and had family ties for years...all gone now but the area is beautiful

Thanks for the tips. Must be great as the Blue Ridge is hard to beat, at least in places.

X2.... we’re about 50 minutes from a great entrance point to the BRP, and of course a stay here with Fire Flake and me is mandatory.
