Just got in from catching up on some processing. The old lady ran the splitter through a lot of the smaller pieces whilst I cut some limbs down to size on the same buck using the MS250 (did I mention that I did a muffler mod on it last week?)

Anyway we got everything that was on the ground processed, so that means two loads down and two to go. Not sure if the results will be as good tomorrow, we have mostly ash and elm on deck and the ash is stringer than I had expected. Still got 4 big chunks of honey locust mixed in too. I would like to get everything in the truck and trailer done so we don't have to throw anything else on the ground when we got for that cherry tree Friday. Thursday I am working extended hours, so I need to make hay whilst the sun shines.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Right now work (the thing they pay me for) is a bit frustrating, so blowing off some steam processing wood is a blessing. After Saturday I probably won't have any unprocessed wood on the property. In a mother two weeks we should be dropping that big silver maple.

I wish I could say all my wood on the property will be processed soon. I had about 5 or 6 cords left from late spring that I let set because it was so hot. I just got started on them and split about 1 cord and now I have had to lay low. 4 trips to the Chiro and going back tomorrow morning. I have some cartlidge on the the bottom of my rib cage at my back that is inflammed. This is a new one on me but can be pretty painful. I don't think the firewood did it, I think laying on the edge of the stone hearth working on getting the surround panels bolted up did it because the left side was hurting first, that eased up and then the right side got me even worse. It's getting better though I believe. That's whats nice about listening to Savs sermons about getting ahead on your wood.

Too bad we don't all live by each other, a splitter party would already be in the works.

I had a few cords unprocessed on that lawn from April until mid Jume when I hurt my back. I knew that it wouldn't get better until I rested it, so I did. Then I built a sawbuck and over the course of two days got it CSS.

Thanks Jack, no worries....I have about 17 or 18 already split. I just have the itch to be out there at it.

I know how you feel. I was like that last week when the splitter was loaned out.

Jack, that is surprising about the ash being stringy. Is that by any chance green or black ash rather than white ash?

There is a chance, but the experts on here said it was definitely white ash. It was worse than the elm. Got it all split now and everything split yesterday the old lady stacked. Had a buddy come over and help me with the splitting.

I've not yet had any stringy ash like that so I highly doubt it was white ash.

I will try to get more pics and repost this weekend. I won't be home until after dark the next couple days.

I take it where I can get it. It wasn't too bad to split all in all.

    You are worried about that?

You completely miss my point... (shaking head).

    No, no credit! Cash only!

One of the few things I miss about my ex was that she was gung-ho about firewood. If I brought home a new chainsaw, she hugged me, because she know it meant that I would go out and cut more trees and we would have more firewood to feed the OWB to keep the house warm. She was also good at hauling firewood that I cut and loading the truck up, and splitting/stacking firewood. No complaining, whining or griping about firewood and chainsaws. I hear so many other women complain about that stuff, and they would never get off the couch long enough to haul wood, split or ever pick up a chainsaw. That is a man's job! I bought her an MS210 one year that she still uses. She would also bring beers at the end of the day on the ATV if we were working on our property. *sigh* Were that we could only have gotten along as well with the rest of our life....

Sounds about like mine, except she is afraid of the chainsaw. That is fine with me, I don't want her using it anyway.

Mine will run splitter as I move the wood onto it. She will load the truck. Do sent use a saw and so far has not said anything about all the new saws that have appeared the last 4 months or so. I told her once I figure out what I'm doing I can get a few of these and flip them for a few bucks. She likes that plan. Problem is the last 2 saws I don't want toilet go and neither do I for the third I have just out back together. Sooner or later I'm going to have to sell something before she gets suspicious!! I think I may go get that husky 350 I left at the saw shop and build it to sell!
