This actually happened in a way; not after the rally but before it. Guy went up to check out the capitol and two FBI showed up at his door to question him.
I wonder what enemy these militias are being mustered to fight. Seems this thread may meet its demise as well.
Tyranny, and the loss of a Constitutional amendment. All it takes is good people to stand by and do nothing, and tyranny will flourish. As Ben Franklin famously said "We must hang together, or surely we will hang separatly."
Yes, I don't want to get too political. It is basically weapons are being banned, gun sales limited, limits on magazines (as if you can't have several ready to go) red flag laws that violate due process as outlined in the US constitution. These are the first to go and will be followed by free speech and right to assembly disappearing.
It's passed the general assembly, the house, hopefully the Senate throws it out, if not, we already know northam will sign.
Well Seasoned.. where did you find that map? (And can someone clue me in as to how to "tag" someome...?)
This thread is two weeks old and does not need to be revisited. Choose who it is that you want to tag. Type an "@" (without the quotation marks) and then, with no spaces after the "@" start typing their username. If spelled correctly, choiices wil come up after about three letters. OK Eckie ? You've just been tagged, you're it!
I was listening to the "God and Guns" podcast yesterday and they said the attendance the media reported was way low (shocking I know). They were in VA at the rally and said they figure there was at least 3-4 times the 22,000 that was reported.
I wonder what would have happened if all 22,000+ had shown up with weapons and told the police to stand down or face the consequences? Instead they disarmed themselves. Hopefully since we now know that the Virginia government ignored the protesters and are implementing the anti-2nd laws anyway, it won't happen again.
Troy and Doug (podcast hosts) said there were plenty of weapons there. My understanding was they were simply asked not to open carry long guns within the fencing that was set up. They said there were many open carrying outside of the fence. They even talked about one guy they saw that was carrying around a 50 call. They also said that there were no problems whatsoever though. I heard many people repeatedly mention this was a rally not a protest and were expecting everyone to behave politely and respectfully. There was even talk of people staying to clean up after themselves. Quite a contrast to when the "other side" of things puts on their little display of 'protest'.
