How well will a skid steer/track loader do cleaning up land? I have 4 acres that had 3 mobile homes that were removed before I bought it. Lots of junk everywhere. My first choice is a dozer but I don't think there available to rent.

That and a bucket would keep me busy. I need to push the first 6" of dirt off several acres. I did set 18 steel oil field 2-3/8" posts.

What will you be doing with the property?

I bought the 4 acres for the 40'x80' shop but it came with a 1950's house. So I'm fixing everything by first removing all the junk left on the property. This is just a large hobby shop for me but is turning into a lot of work. I'm thinking a dozer is the best way to clean up here. It would be nice to have the house fixed up but i don't know if it's worth fixing. This keeps me busy so that's the main thing.

The style and cute smallness of a 50s style house can be rather appealing to some people but the wiring and electrical support definitely falls behind our current level of use. If you have to gut the house, put right everything in it, re-insulate it, re-roof and fix everything else, it becomes a major undertaking.

Today’s tracked skid steers can do an amazing amount of work especially if you have a few attachments for it. But 6” of dirt over several acres is probably a bit much unless you have lots of time. And what about soil conditions?rocky? stumps? Hard clay or dirt? Perhaps a mid size wheel loader might be better. I’m thinking like a Cat 950-966 or John Deere 644. What about the spoil pile created? 6” x several acres is gonna be a big pile of dirt
