Not that I was needing either but I just thought about them not being available. Did they have problems or were they "answers to questions that were not being asked" ?
Not sure about 280 but my understanding on 241 was that it was too close in performance and price to the 261 to be worth keeping in the lineup. It's too bad because my buddy has a 241 and I LOVE it. I find its noticeably nimbler than my 261 and just a perfect saw for property cleanup chores. The 261 does it fine but the 241 is sweet.
I just finished a rebuild of a MS280 today. New piston and rings, new crank seals, new fuel line and filter and slight muffler mod. I’ve read a lot of posts on the saw and the one thing that comes up often is the AV is to flexible. And that causes a lot of intake boot rips. Mine has no H adjust on the carb, which wears a solenoid. I think it still needs a carb rebuild.
Dang, I didn’t realize they quit making the 241. I have one that had a woods port job. That little thing is impressive and I use it more than my 362.
