Do Bradford's get big. The big end was probably 30 inch, too big for me to cut or handle. Well as long as it goes in my Fisher it should make some heat. Getting ahead for next year.

Yeah they get about that big and supposedly burn real nice, some mentioned a blue flame... they do have a two year waiting period according to the charts. One of my first scores this spring was bradford, but I’m saving it for next year.
buZZsaw BRAD, you ever score Bradford? BuZZsaw Bradford?

I did the end of March. Scroll back in this thread mrfancyplants and i posted a couple pics. I didnt know what it was at the time. Posted pics on here and it was determined to be BP. My full name is Bradford but only my mother calls me that...only when she's mad at me! LOL!!!
Did you end up getting an Isocore? Have you tried it yet? If yes, your thoughts?

I do recall the thread now; I guess you haven’t gotten around to burning the Bradford yet, Bradford?
I’ve only taken a few swings with the isocore as I haven’t had much time for “wood work” in the last month or so other than keeping the stove stoked, and moving a couple face cords into my “on deck” stacks with covers. It worked well, but I think a bit lighter than the other maul I had, which is good so I could power it up a little.. I’m only 5’4” so just letting it drop wasn’t quite enough. It definitely worked better than my ‘husky’ maul. I’ll or obably work it in for the tough to split pieces, but keep the X27 as my go to. Glad to have it on deck though. Especially with over a cord of chunked locust spilled around the backyard at this point. I may get a trunk load or two more when my brother in-law is in town in January.

I prefer the X27 over it, but use it more than in would if it was the log blaster.

Probably the one wood I’ve read more negatives about than any other.
But again, dried... anything will burn. Just depends on where you want to expend your energy and for how much return btu-wise.

I've found it cuts really easy then easily moves to the brush pile.

Dead ringer for the Bradford we have. I have burned some and yes good heat, but split even the smaller branches as they seem to really hold moisture.
