I think im just going to leave that beech hoard alone. I just found out that we would have to fell the tree in a very small backyard. Not worth the risk. I was under the impression that it was going to be downed and we would buck it up. Im not a professional so im not going to get involved. Do I think i can feel it exactly where i want? Yes. Am i willing to risk it? No.

You definitely made the right choice. There’s a reason tree service companies charge big money to take out trees. Insurance, liability, tough work, equipment needed, etc. You probably would have been expected to haul the brush out and rake up the lawn as well by the sounds of this “deal” Just so I’m clear though, he wanted you to cut down the tree, buck it up, and give him something for your part of the wood while he kept his half? If that’s the case, WOW!!!

That’s hearsay! Haha...unless you’re a Druid which might be a feasible wood tax, then a box of kindling would be ok.
