Just a gentle breeze here... I felt a bit like Jim Cantore this morning. According to my weather station (mounted to the flagpole in the video) the wind is blowing a steady 39. The gulls don’t seem to mind the wind. Apologies for the crappy video quality - it was still a bit dark and raining sideways.
Wind not bad yet over here. Sun still trying to shine off and on. Heard one clap of thunder last night but that was all. Looks like we got a good soaker. Looks like the UP is getting hammered with snow.
Wind here are really cranking. A half mile very careful hike through our woods and we found a lot of new widow makers and 5 or 6 small ash down. Most of the ash is punky beyond saving. It will still have to cut and moved off what little trail space we have.
Some windy weather is forecast for T-day here but as of this morning, the forecast for tomorrow is a bit less harsh than it was yesterday. Can still change overnight. Then it is supposed to get cold. Boo, hiss. LOL.
Deputies and highway dealing with trees down. One fell across a busy city street, taking down power lines. pretty unusual sight in town. High winds always set of burglar alarms too- shaking windows and doors. still windy and soggy. Temperature is dropping and will stay there.
Colder now, just lost some smaller branches and the power somehow stayed on. So came out without any damage or extra work on Thanksgiving.
Very gusty here in NE WI today. Actually witnessed a huge oak come down along a railroad right of way. Fell into another tree on the way down and made a heck of a racket.
Lost one of my yard trees, and not an EAB killed ash. 50-60 mph winds today here in SE Wisconsin. I'll take a pic tomorrow. It's not a small tree.
Wind is cranking here also temp is not real cold so the wind chill is not to bad, the wind makes for using the motorcycle goggles to run the sawmill a must Happy Thanksgiving to all JB
I’ll check for downed trees this weekend, nothing in the yard thankfully. I did move my trailer full of wood out from the barn. I figured the wind would get a head start on drying it rather than in a barn.
Wind blew hard here yesterday, didn't lose any trees here, but several calls for downed trees in other places. Great, that makes for something like 500 trees to cut up & haul off. Ground is absolute mush.
