Was just posting on another thread and suggested these so I thought I would share with everyone else. I have used work pants with built in knee pads for a while now. Some of the brands have removable pads and one that I know of has permanently installed ones. The ones that are permanent are Thrive, thriveworkwear.com, and I find the most comfortable. They have saved my knees from a lot of abuse, I just realized most of the people on here could probably use them in their work or for wood cutting in general. I wear them most of the time know, it takes a couple of wearings and washing to break them in. So, you might want to look into them, your knees will thank you.
I have only worn the carpenter style, I like the pockets to hold my pencil, flashlight, knife and cell phone etc.
Side pocket holds hard glasses case for this guy. The glass case was getting too beat up in the shirt pocket...falling out whenever I bent over, etc. Been using carpenter pants for a couple decades now....yeah, even the hammer loop comes in handy!
