    Yes, it's a mixture of some good prime Sugar Maple and some not so prime.

    I have the rest of the tree still standing, I'll want the boss back there if or when I fell it, where the branch split of is the weak point.

    We have a similar tree, except its massive. There is an oak or probably a poplar that lost a huge limb during sandy, and I noticed just today, squirrels bringing leaves into a hole into the trunk where the branch snapped off. The tree is 80 to 100 ft tall, but back enough if it fell, the crown would just scrape the house. Too big around to fell, will wait and see.
