We have a nest thermostat, and all was good until today when it said it was not getting power. In troubleshooting it seems we are not getting power between the R and Y terminals. R to G or W have 26 volts so should be good. Of course, it's 5f outside so AC not needed, so not sure it I should even have power. Put in our old thermostat and should be fine but waiting to see if it kicks on later this evening. We put in an older Nest that stopped working on WiFi so but it back in and furnace did kick on but didn't kick off until I turned it off. After it was in for a while it also said there was a wiring problem on the Y1 terminal.
One possibility is the Nest just went bad but not sure and since the old one is saying there is a power issue as well. Furnace is a 20-year-old Goodman so maybe the board is having trouble. Most likely will call a tech out next week to look at it.

    Thanks

All good here, but not a good start for the year. Best friend Lefty had 2 fires last night/this morning. First took out the chicken coop with 8 chickens. Most likely, embers from that started a dead tree trunk and spread to the barn. Barn is a total loss and a lot of his equipment. Feel very bad for him and will start a new thread on it when I get a few minutes.

Oh No! His lively hood, I'm so sorry. Weird, my childhood town has turned into a sprawling suburbia and hundreds of homes burned down the other night. Idk, asphalt and sidewalks and all those home burned. I don't get it. What started the dead tree trunk on fire? No need to answer, I'll look for your new thread.
