I started stewing an oven stuffer tonight about 5pm on Grandma, Nothing fancy, it'll cook till about 9pm. I'll let it sit till 1000, then in the fridge. Debone tomorrow then throw in the rest of the goodies. Even though Grandma is old, she's still cooking and warming House 82* inside, 27* outside…….
That's still pretty dang cool having an old stove that can cook dinner. My coworker cooks all kinds of stuff - from potatoes in the ash pan to steaks seared in a pan on top - sometimes wish I had a flat surface for soups, but the dogs would have it on the floor...for sure
I've cooked bacon and eggs, Pancakes, (i have a flat griddle) steaks and many, many stews and soups! We don't loose power often but when we do, "I'm eating hot food"
