If I hit this powerball, my first donation and BIG ONE, is going to the Wounded Warriors Fund. How come this country can find money to give to everyone that just shows up here, but no money to those who served and paid dearly with long term injuries? What is wrong with us? Take care of our own, I'm putting my money where my mouth is. Thank you to all who served, and especially those who made it home needing a helping hand.
"GREAT" suggestion Eric! Sorry I didn't think of that! Old age setting in… See if Grizzlyadam can do something about that, he's the tech guru!
We'll put this one in our cache, Grizzly Adam can do it because I'm not sure where he's putting them.....lol
Thats a nice one. Would like to see some other likes it for Canada, UK, Australia and the like as well. I will try to remember to get this done tonight.
I wrote a check for a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project and the envelope is all stamped and ready to be mailed in the AM. I just wish it was for the amount I was thinking of if I'd have won P-ball
Look up Wounded Warriors on Charity Navigator or one of the other charity rating sites. Lots of negative.
Just want to make you aware that the VA does not forget about it's vets. If the injuries are service connected, they take care of you.
I didn't mean that the VA didn't. It's just some of the longer term issues, housing for disabled vets and emotional issues, we could always do more and better care for those who sacrificed so much. I just am aware how much money we give away around the world for idiotic reasons. That money would be better spent here on vets in my mind. Thanks for the reply!
I looked a bit yesterday and I can't tell if WWP is funded by the government?? Is it all donation based? The one thing I did see is the head cheese pulls in $500,000 though....almost 10K a week??
Not sure on that... On page 9 of this report shows 11 people pulled in just over 3 million. http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/media/879225/2014_form-990_wwp.pdf But I do think it is all donation $.
