That's just excellent! How and when do you heat your shed? Does it double as a man cave? Sent from my iPhone so pardon any autocorrect bollocks
Shed or not, that is a really nice spot. Looks like another mouth to feed this winter. Does Buddy get a bed out there?
Well, well, well, the Chief's been busy. Nice project you got done, Steve. I like it. Do you have proper CTCs to that air hose?
Nice, I thought about putting something like that in my shop...haven't got "rountoit" yet though. You have mini wood processed to fit the lil wood gobbler?
Ok, try answer all the questions. The Chief inspector hates to admit it but hey, I'm retired right. Since the stove is not EPA certified, or even UL approved it would have to meet NFPA 211. That would require it to be 36 in from combustibles. My little wood shed is not big enough for that so I built a heat shield with Wonder Board. The through the roof was the biggest problem. The stove is for outfitter tents. Here is the link. HQ ISSUE Outdoor Wood Stove - 648081, Stoves at Sportsman's Guide The stove pipe is heavy steel all the way through the roof, so I had MacGyver a solution to get through the roof. The little rascal burns and draws like a champ, even on 85 degree test day. My wood shed is only 160 sq ft but it serves as yard shed, wood shed and man cave. I spend s lot of time out there. Buddy is always with me and he couldn't care less about a bed. Just lays down anywhere out of my way on the floor. We like our heat. Besides, it's just going to be plain fun. The little fir box measures 12x8x17. So my wood which I cut 16 fits just fine. I will never leave it unattended, so I think my MacGyver installation will be just fine. Don't know what the chief inspector is going to say Chief PS. I don't advocate not complying with UL, EPA, NFPA, or any other code! This is just sort of a different situation.
If the Durock starts gettin uncomfortably warm and you get concerned, you could always attach an 18 ga. skin (painted or plain), stood off from the Durock about an inch.... Then you'd pick up a little radiant reflection as well.
Thanks! It sure does make this old man happy. I will have a lot of fun this winter. I love burning wood and everything that goes with it. And theses old arthritic bones love it too!
