It was a nice evening here, some rain passed through and the temps ended up in the low 70's. We had some friends over for dinner and I fired the oven. White cedar and some pine to start, then sugar maple to really get it going. The maple got rolling up into the dome. First one out was regular cheese. Next was bacon pineapple. Ground sausage next. The last one was carmelized onion, mushroom, sausage and fresh mozzarella.
Those look fantastic! I'm sure they tasted great too. Just curious as to how you get them in and out of the oven. Do you have one of those big azz pizza spatula?
Yep. A wooden peel. I put cornmeal on it, make the pizza right on it. It cooks pretty quick that I can move the pizza around after a minute or so.
Oliver!, Cheese please... Oakley, Mmmmm bacon... Jackson, Sausage!.... Willow and Bailey, Boys drool...girls Rule, but we love PIZZA,
Sorry pups, no leftovers. We also had stuffed portabello mushroom caps cooked right on the bricks before the pizza went in.
You are killing me now. I made it through the pizza pics but this!!!! Love the pic of the maple flames rolling in the ceiling. And I just had breakfast!!!!
The maple was a small hung up limb that fell a few weeks ago. A few small splits and it took off sending flames out the door.
Very nice. Wish there was a smaller quicker version of those ovens..... One that when you use it, it is also creates a mosquito free area.....
Surf the web. There are red refractory brick versions stacked with angle iron that work pretty well. Just get her good and hot.
That looks good Punk wise. I think the next ones for me will have pepper, onion and maybe broccoli on top.
Looks like it, don't it? That used to be my grandparents double house, they rented the one side out. They've both passed away and the house is now owned by people who don't do a thing to maintain it. Very sad.......
